A few to recommend: The Pendry Manhattan West (164 rooms) is just around the corner from the Vessel, the Shed, and Highline Walking Path - we loved our hotel stay here and its convenience to everything + the Citi-bikes nearby to get around quickly. The Equinox Hotel (212 rooms) was impressive with its modern rooms, water views, and rooftop pool. A Courtyard by Marriott is nearby (399 rooms), and to round out the price point options, a Tribute Portfolio hotel is opening in 2026 with 379 rooms; all of these hotels are within walking distance to the renovated Javits Convention Center and all the sights around Hudson Yards, Penn Station, and Madison Square Garden.

This trip was extra special because I traveled with my youngest son, who enjoys travel, food, and new experiences like his mom. We did all the touristy things, starting with climbing to the top of The Vessel, seeing the views from the observation deck at The Edge, and then having a serendipitous lunch in the new José Andrés' Mercado Little Spain—not to be missed.

Beyond New York: Relaxing in Healdsburg

After spending several super busy days touring New York and having it rain most days, I was ready for some R&R and better weather. I had a unique opportunity to visit the stunning Montage Healdsburg, the ideal retreat location. I felt very fortunate to experience the serene pool scene, blue Sonoma sky, and warm sunny weather—it was a pinch-me week.

Montage Healdsburg was the best transition from Manhattan's electric vibes to Healdsburg's tranquil charm. Meetings or incentives here can be enhanced with many options beyond wine tastings; they have a flair for creating unique and local-inspired experiences that attendees will treasure.
